Susan Duke is a wife, mother, best selling author, inspirational/motivational speaker, and singer. A prolific writer, Susan has authored or co authored 15 books including her newest release, Grieving Forward, Embracing Life Beyond Loss (Warner Faith~Time Warner Book Group), the God Things Come in Small Packages series, the Heartlifters series, and the international bestsellers, Courage for the Chicken Hearted and Egg-stra Courage for the Chicken Hearted. Both Courage books were selected by Guidepost as hardback collector’s editions.
Susan’s book, Earth Angels ~ Stories of Heavenly Encouragement Through Earthly Vessels, (Howard/Simon & Shuster Publishing) received honorable recognition at the 2004 27th Hollywood Annual International Excellence in Media Angel Awards. Guideposts also published Earth Angels under their imprint for an international promotion. Gospel International published Earth Angels as well in the Korean Language.
Wolfie’s Dream, the first book in her children’s series [The Schnauzer Chronicles], (Published by Dancing Bear Press) has a co-coordinating multi-product line that companions the book. Wolfie’s Dog House Club now includes subscribers nationwide.
Susan is an active member of AWASA (Advanced Writer’s and Speaker’s Association). She has been a popular guest on numerous television and radio stations across the United States, including U.S.A.’s National Radio Network and Homelife Television.
In 1998 Susan won the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference Best Work Submitted Award for a children’s story. Susan travels extensively, speaking for Christian conferences, retreats and seminars, corporations, national teacher’s associations, community groups, writing conferences (including her own Writing With Wings Seminars), and churches of all denominations. An enthusiastic communicator and true encourager, Susan combines humor, sensitivity, transparency, and poignant biblical truth in all of her messages. Her compelling testimony of God's restoration after tragedy offers a bridge of hope for hurting hearts. Susan has recorded four gospel albums and was the featured guest soloist for an international radio broadcast reaching fourteen countries on the African continent from 1990-1995.
Susan’s current book, Grieving Forward (Embracing Life Beyond Loss)~ September, 2006 release by Warner Faith (Time Warner Book Group) is possibly holds the most potential of all the books Susan has written to date to help the most people. In 2002, Susan founded the Grieving Forward outreach and support group in her community for anyone experiencing loss. The meetings offer a safe place for grieving hearts to gather and find hope, solace, and support. The vision for Grieving Forward has expanded rapidly and now includes training and seminars for churches.
Susan and her husband, Harvey, reside in their quaint log home Harvey built in the tranquil woods of East Texas.
